To upgrade your room, the "Historic Queens" with period furnishings are available for $169.00 per night, and suites may also be reserved for $279 per night.
For those wishing to extend their stay, additional nights at this rate may be secured by arrangement with the Inn for the period between September 4 and 13.
To obtain the group rate, and to allow the SMSC to be credited with your reservation, please call the hotel (Do NOT use the internet, there is no way to get the rate through their site) at 410 263 2641 and tell the reservations clerk that you are making your reservation as a member of the Society of Miniature Ship Collectors (SMSC).

Guest rooms may be reserved at any one of the three properties of the Historic Inns complex (see map below).  All are within convenient walking distance of each other and are close to downtown attractions and the Naval Academy campus.

U.S. Naval Academy Museum and Model Shop Tour
Preble Hall, Gate 3, U.S. Naval Academy
3:00 - 8:00 PM
Don Preul, Curator of Ship Models at the Naval Academy Museum, will lead a "behind the scenes" tour of the Museum and Model Shop.  This is your chance to ask the questions you've always wanted to ask of one of the nation's top ship modelers, and see first-hand how some of the Academy's prized models are built and restored.  The Model Shop also has a substantial inventory of 1/1250 scale models that are in the process of being catalogued.  Space is limited, so reserve your place in the tour by contacting John Olsen (neslo1250@gmail.com).
The Naval Academy is a U.S. Government facility, so a valid government issued identification card (driver's license, passport, etc.) is required at the gate for entry.

David Taylor Model Basin Tour
Carderock Division, U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Bethesda, MD
8:30 AM - 12:00 noon
The SMSC is in the process of arranging a tour of one of the world's largest test facilities for the development of ship design.  In addition to the model testing basin, Carderock is a repository for one of the largest collections of builder's models of US naval ships.
The David Taylor Model basin is a U.S. Government facility and requires not only a valid government issued photo ID to enter, but also a list of attendees with social security numbers.  Therefore, pre-registration is necessary.  Please contact John Olsen (neslo1250@gmail.com) if you are interested in registering for this tour.  There may be a small charge for transportation collected on the date of the tour depending on the number of people attending.
After lunch in the cafeteria, if time permits, we will stop for a visit to the U.S. Naval Museum in Washington, DC, on our way back to Annapolis.
