The first recognized national meeting of miniature ship model collectors was organized by Paul Jacobs and Chris Daley, and took place on September 20, 2003 at Paul's home in Saratoga, California. Though drawing mainly from West Coast collectors, the East Coast was well represented by Ulrich Rudofsky and Jim Angelis.
